Living in a zigzag age

Worth searching forI have not been able to find this particular book by Dr. Bryant Kirkland, but I am sure that it is wrth finding. I had the great priveledge of attending a church that he served in his later years of life, he is worth the search. He wins hands down the greatest minister I have ever listened to. He had the unique ability of being able to connect with even the most simple mind. He preached God's word in relation to everyday life like nobody I have ever heard preach. I did read another book that he published, and the reading is very similar to the way he talks. Good luck finding it!

The Righteous Rogue (Signet Regency Romance)
Published in Paperback by Signet (December, 1997)
Average review score:

delightful readingA gentleman is blamed for something an unknown double of him has done and he sets out to find the culprit. On his search he meets the heroine whose brother seems to be best friends with the culprit. There are some delightfull scenes in which the heroine mistakes the hero for his double and also the rest of the book is very enjoyable to read. The characters are likable and drawn out well with nice romantic tension between the hero and the heroine.

The Ruby Necklace
Published in Paperback by Signet (April, 1996)

Just a comment, as one of the people to whom it's dedicated.Martha is a very interesting person, and this is evident in the extent of research and arcana that goes into her writing. You'll probably learn a lot about some long-forgotten aspects of culture and etiquette, and be impressed with the local color that pervades all her books.
This book is dedicated to me, among others, for my "good taste." Yes, I had married her daughter!

Three for Brighton (Zebra Regency Romance)
Published in Paperback by Kensington Pub Corp (Mass Market) (February, 1998)
Average review score:

Merry mix ups threaten true loveWhen Constance and Felicity find that their father's death has left them without so much as a penny, they are forced to ask their cousin, Regina, for help. She used to live with them, as something of a poor relation, but now, thanks to her job as a companion, she has the only money between the three.
The three strike out for Brighton, Regina searching for her long lost father and the sisters hoping to find a good match for Constance. Regina disguises herself as an elderly widow, to avoid scandal and Felicity disguises herself as a preteen girl to save Regina the expense of presenting two young ladies...without the raised eyebrows.
Everything is going well until a handsome lord becomes intrigued with the mysterious "widow" and follows her...uncovering the fact that she is a young beauty. He confronts her, but keeps her secret to himself...and thus a secret romance begins. But the lord does not pursue Regina as he would wish to because he mistakenly assumes the man she is searching for is her husband.
Meanwhile Constance falls head over heels for a dashing, but penniless military man and Felicity meets the man of her dreams, who thinks that she is only a child and overlooks her in his pursuit of her beautiful sister.
It is a funny, yet romantic book and fans of Martha Kirkland won't want to miss it.

Tools for Environmental Management: A Practical Introduction and Guide (Conscientious Commerce)
Published in Hardcover by New Society Pub (December, 2002)
Average review score:

A useful toolkitThis is the first book that I have seen to compile a practical toolkit for managers who are working to improve environmental management and sustainability of their operations. It is presented as 'work in progress', is very comprehensive in its identification and coverage, with a set of 22 linked tools. It is designed for reference rather than to be read as a book, and fills a very important gap in the management literature.
The 22 linked tools are in various stages of development and the authors cover both how available tools should be used and what remains to be developed. For example the chapter on environmental indicators covers both the current state of the art and a frank discussion of current problems.
A notable feature of the book is the quality of the listing of further reading and available Internet sites at the end of each chapter. My only regret is that the authors have not provided a complementary website with at least those references listed.
